PokerStars seems hell-bent on taking over the world. Last week they introduced a mobile poker app to the poker world and now they have bumped up the guarantees on many of their largest poker tournaments. PokerStars has never had an attendance problem, but it’s still nice to know that the prize pools for certain tournaments will never be smaller than the stated guarantee.
There are too many guarantee increases to list here, but I’ll provide a couple of noteworthy examples. If you want to see the full list of new guarantees, you can visit the PokerStars website and click on the “promotions” tab. Here are a few guarantee bumps that stood out the most to me:
- Sunday Storm bumped up from $200,000 to $300,000 guaranteed
- Sunday Second Chance bumped up from $125,000 to $175,000 guaranteed
- Sunday Supersonic bumped up from $40,000 to $125,000 guaranteed
- Saturday Splash bumped up from $50,000 to $100,000 guaranteed
- The daily Big $109 bumped up from $50,000 to $100,000 guaranteed
- The daily Big $11 bumped up from $50,000 to $75,000 guaranteed
- The daily Big $55 bumped up from $100,000 to $125,000 guaranteed
With these tournament guarantees, it’s no longer a question that PokerStars is the best poker site for tournament players. PokerStars is not my favorite poker site (I’m not a huge fan of the software), but I have to admit that there is no other place on the internet where you can find this kind of action.
You can’t visit any other poker site on the internet to find multiple tournaments every day that have $100,000+ guaranteed prize pools. And on top of that, the daily tournaments all have their guaranteed prize pools doubled on Sundays. That plus the other Sunday guarantees makes this the poker site that gives you the most potential as a tournament player.
I’m not here to blindly support PokerStars, but the facts speak for themselves. The massive prize pools and flawless reputation of PokerStars are both huge positives for giving PokerStars a shot. You can ask any serious online tournament player where the single best location is for tournaments and he’ll tell you that it’s PokerStars.
