Chinese Poker Rules
Chinese poker begins with every player being dealt thirteen cards. The goal is to create three different hands out of these thirteen cards. You will want to create two five cards hand and one three card hand. The first five card hand you create is known as your “back” hand which should be the best possible hand you can create.
The three card hand, or your “front” hand should be made up of your lowest hand possible. Once you have decided on you hand, you must place your back hand on the table, face down, with your middle hand in front of this, and your front hand in front of this. Once this is done by all players, everyone will decide whether or not they are staying in the hand. Players then reveal their hands and the winners are decided based on each individual hand. For example, you could win your back hand, but lose your middle and front hands.
Each hand is played against each player individually, so you may beat all of one players hands and lose all your hands to another player. Pots are paid out according to pre-agreed upon “royalties” for each hand. Additional bonuses may have to be paid out to a player if they win all three hands, or even if they win only two hands.
