Our Thoughts on WSOP 2008: Battle for the Bracelets
If all you are looking for is Texas Hold’em action, then this may not be the game for you. You must play the other poker game variations if you want to excel at WSOP 2008. The graphics are excellent in spots, but on certain platforms, they can depixelize and the poker players’ skin seems to go away. These are annoying at points, but do not affect the game play.
There are tons of special features that you can unlock by beating levels, like video poker lessons from Mike Matusow, Phil Hellmuth, and Chris “Jesus” Ferguson in a poker schol setting. By unlocking powerful tools that help you become a better poker player, you can compete and win heads up matches against progressively tougher famous poker pros for your chance to win the biggest poker tournament in the world: The $10,000 World Series of Poker Main Event.
Overall, this is a fun game with some minor flaws that appeals to both beginner poker players and hard-core poker fans alike. With an online feature, players can get together for weekly online poker games and play large multi-table poker tournaments. This is one of the best poker video games around, and it is available on every console platform except for Wii and Mac.
Highly recommended.
